Hi all! Today, we’re giving you a deep-dive into our brand new custom packaging process. Our reason for introducing this service is because we have received a request for a large number of applications that are not available via Winget or they are applications that require personal customization.
Our process is designed to be smooth, secure, and efficient, allowing you to deploy your applications with confidence. Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Customer Uploads Application Files and Information
The journey begins with you, the customer. You’ll upload your application files and any extra notes via your Pckgr account. This could be the setup files, any dependencies required, configuration files, or specific instructions that we need to follow while creating the package.
Step 2: Files Are Downloaded and Checked for Viruses
The safety of your applications and our environment is paramount. After your files are uploaded, our dedicated Pckgr team downloads them and performs a thorough virus check. We ensure the cleanliness and security of your files before proceeding further. This is for our protection as well as yours.
Step 3: Creating the Package
Once your files are vetted and deemed safe, our team gets to work on creating your package. Utilizing your provided specifications, we build the package to ensure the deployment will be as smooth as possible. Here we also create the detection method and any custom requirements for the package.
Step 4: Testing the Package
Now, it’s time to put the package through its paces. The Pckgr team tests the deployment of the package from Intune, making sure it installs correctly and the detection method is working. We don’t just stop there – we also validate the uninstallation process from Intune to ensure a full life cycle test. It’s all about making sure that your application can be seamlessly integrated and removed when required.
Step 5: Handover to the Customer
With the testing completed and the package ready to go, we then hand it over to you. You’ll find your package ready for deployment in your Pckgr account.
Step 6: Deployment of the Private Application
Here’s where the real fun begins! With your package now in hand, you’ll be able to deploy your private application straight from your Pckgr account. And here’s the icing on the cake – we’ve introduced a new option called ‘Private Applications’ in the App Library. You can find your package under this section, making it easy to manage and deploy your custom applications whenever you need.
